Albums
Marked "(Edited)"
Sometimes, record companies will release an edited version of a
recording designated with the Parental Advisory Label. Such
recordings are identified with an Edited notice, which alerts
customers that the recording has been modified from the original
by the record company, and does not include all of the same
content contained in the version with the Parental Advisory
Label.
The use of
the Edited notice does not necessarily mean that all content
listeners might find objectionable has been removed from the
recording. Walmart carries certain recordings designated as
Edited, and marks these recordings as such on the applicable
album or item page of the Walmart.com website.

Music Content Policy
The following information applies to music CDs and music
downloads you purchase from Walmart:
-
Parental
Advisory Labels
The Parental Advisory program is a voluntary program created
and administered by the Recording Industry Association of
America (RIAA). Under the Parental Advisory program,
individual record companies, working with their artists,
decide which of their releases should be labeled with a
Parental Advisory Label. Recordings identified with the
Parental Advisory Label may contain strong language or
depictions of violence, sex or substance abuse. Walmart
Stores, Sam's Club and Walmart.com (collectively "Walmart")
do not carry recordings designated with the Parental
Advisory Label.
-
Edited
Versions
Sometimes, record companies will release an edited version
of a recording designated with the Parental Advisory Label.
Such recordings are identified with an Edited notice which
alerts customers that the recording has been modified by the
record company from the original, and does not include all
of the same content contained in the labeled version. The
use of the Edited notice does not necessarily mean that all
content that all listeners might find objectionable has been
removed from the recording. Walmart carries certain
recordings designated as Edited and marks these recordings
as such on the applicable album or item page of the
Walmart.com website.
-
Other
Walmart does not display album or song titles that contain
profanity on the Walmart.com website. Walmart does not edit
recordings or 30-second sample clips offered in stores or on
the Walmart.com website. Walmart selects 30-second sample
clips such that only clips that do not contain profanity are
made available to customers. However, other portions of the
recordings may contain profanity, and the 30-second sample
clips or the recording as a whole may be deemed by some
customers to be offensive, indecent or objectionable.
Occasionally, Walmart may refuse to stock music merchandise
that may not seem appropriate. However, Walmart may carry
some recordings that some customers might find offensive,
indecent or objectionable. Parents are always encouraged to
review the merchandise their children purchase from Walmart
to ensure it meets their own standards.

Why A Certain Song or Music Genre Are Not Available
Sometimes record labels, artists or other rights owners will not
release a song as an MP3 music download. We are always adding
songs to our library as they become available as downloads, so
please check back often.
|
|
|
 |
| |
|
Partial Album Downloads
A partial album download is one that does not have all the songs
that are available on the physical CD. Sometimes record labels,
artists or other rights owners do not release all songs on an
album for sale as music downloads.
|
|
|
 |
| |
|
Why Some
Songs or Albums Are Not Available
Sometimes record labels, artists or other rights owners do not
permit the sale of one or more songs from an album as a music
download. We constantly update our catalog of songs and albums,
so please check back later to see if the music you want has
become available.
|
|
|
 |
| |
|
Why Some
Songs Are Not Sold Individually
Sometimes record labels, artists or other rights owners insist
that an album be sold in its entirety, or that particular song(s)
be sold only as part of an album purchase.

$5 Authorization on Credit
or Debit Cards
The $5 is
an authorization only, not an actual charge. An authorization is
just a check to see if you have a certain amount open to buy on
your card. A charge is an actual purchase. Most of the time when
you make a purchase, the authorization and charge are the same
amount and only appear once on your statement. Some banks show
authorizations on their online statements, while others do not,
since these are not actual charges.
Authorization is common among music downloads services, with
some of the services authorizing up to $20 at a time. The reason
is that when you buy MP3s, you are more likely to
make several small purchases one after another as you browse and
find different songs you want. To make your purchases go very
quickly, Walmart MP3 Music Downloads authorizes $5 at a time
instead of just the price of the song. This way, you don't have
to wait for us to contact and charge your card for every single
song you purchase. The authorization will be effective for 48
hours, or until you buy $5 in music downloads, at which time
your card will be authorized again for another $5.
In most
cases, this authorization will only appear on your statement
until the next time your bank posts. Most banks post every Monday
through Friday nights. Depending on your bank, however, the
authorization may be active for up to 72 hours over a weekend.
After your bank posts, any authorization from us will no longer
appear on your statement - you'll only see a charge for the
actual cost of the music you purchased, plus any applicable tax. |
